The DLF-NY and IESNY will be joining forces to present an educational and enlightening joint program; LEDucation. This program will offer you the opportunity to learn about Light Emitting Diodes, “LED’s”, view 30 manufactures table top displays so you can learn more about this interesting, growing and some what new product.

Call For Entries: 2007 Lumen Awards
Deadline: 12 January 2007
The Lumen Awards program was conceived by the IESNY in 1968 and developed to encourage and publicly recognize excellence, professionalism, ingenuity and originality in lighting design. Any architectural lighting design project or specialty lighting design is eligible for submission.
Call For Entries: Immersive Lightscapes
Applications Due: 26 Feburay 2007
Entries Due: 14 March 2007
Attention Students:
For the seventh year, all New York City design students are invited to participate in this design competition. The objective of this year’s design challenge is to develop a three dimensional study of light, to study how light can be used to create a unique, immersive visual experience for one user.
IESNY Joins the Museum of Arts and Design
We are pleased to announce that the IESNY has become a charter member of the Museum of Arts & Design's (MAD) new building at Two Columbus Circle, and a member of the museum's Art & Design Advisory Committee, a group composed of organizations and businesses in the art, architecture and design industries.
The new museum, designed by Brad Cloepfil of Allied Works Architecture will have 54,000 square feet of exhibition space for the museum's collection of art objects, including ceramics, fiber, glass, metal, paper, wood, and mixed-media. When the new building opens in 2008, the New York Section of the IESNA sponsorship will be acknowledged on the Donor Wall. Go to the Museum of Arts + Design website
